What is a business certification for wildlife volunteering?

Our Fish & Wildlife Volunteers (FWV) Business Certification has been the industry standard certification for any business that donates volunteered employee time to wildlife and environmental conservation efforts.

You choose what conservation causes to support with your volunteered employee time.

You commit to volunteer at least 20 hours per every 5 employees per year.

We certify that you have fulfilled your commitment to conservation.

We support you and your team through:

  • Best-practice training for measuring corporate sustainability metrics and building internal and external volunteer programs.

  • Employee and customer empowerment through conservation compliance standards.

  • Guiding your corporate volunteer tracking and leveraging consumer feedback on your wildlife volunteer efforts.

  • Helping you communicate authentically about how you give back through volunteered employee time.

*Examples: 0-5 employees is 20 hours per year, 6-10 employees is 40 hours per year, 11-15 employees is 60 hours per year, etc.

Any business can write a check, but true commitment to conservation is shown through the donation of your most valuable resource: Your employee time.

Annual Dues

To help businesses continue to engage in conservation volunteering, even through challenging economic times, our board voted unanimously on 11/5/2025 to change our dues to an affordable 2-tier flat-rate.

Gross Sales (fiscal year) Annual Dues
$0 – $5,000,000 $300
$5,000,001 and up $2,000

Even businesses that signed up prior to 11/5/2025, under higher dues rates, will only pay these lower dues rates.

Membership recertification requires adherence to our annual recertification policy.
