Annual Individual Membership
Montana residents can earn a free annual individual membership by getting our “Conservation” license plate through the state of Montana’s DMV!
When you register (or reregister) your Montana vehicle, ask for our “Conservation” plate. $35 from every plate comes directly to us from the state when you do that. For as long as you have our license plates, we will give you a free annual membership — for each vehicle you have registered with the plate!
Simply post a picture of the plate and tag us on social media, or email us a picture of your vehicle with the plate. We will never share a picture of your license plate without your consent and will always blur out your plate number if you choose to let us share it.
Life Membership
Life Memberships are the backbone of support for any non-profit group. They often come with serious perks (tents, jackets, etc.), but those expensive perks unfortunately often negate the tax write-off for the individual. That can be a disappointment and shock for folks in working-class tax brackets. So, we do ours a little differently.
To ensure that you can still write-off 98% of your FWV Life Membership, we came up with durable and meaningful perk:

The life member badge on the front is embroidered, but the design on the back is printed on (for comfort).
All proceeds from this shirt go directly to our general fund and, because the Life Membership perk is a t-shirt, your donation is 98% tax deductible (instead of the industry norm of 50-70%).
