Business Member Bio:

I really did not grow up in a hunting or fishing household, and I was raised in the suburbs, but there was an arboretum nearby, and I fell in love with exploration there - and in the adventure novels I devoured all through my childhood.

My time in the wilder places, looking at the native landscape, is an inspiration for my work as a landscape architect.  Without hundreds of hours spent exploring Kisatchie National Forest, I would not have learned the namesake of my company, the Longleaf Pine - Pinus palustris.

Public land advocacy, sustainable land management, and - most importantly here - responsible water management are issues I am passionate about, and work to incorporate into my practice.  I strive to use native plants and materials appropriate to their place to create a timeless design, tailored to my clients' needs.

I am proud to be part of 2% for Conservation, as I feel that as people who actively use the outdoor spaces, we need to give back however we can.

I look forward to continuing to contribute 1% of my hours, and 1% of my fees to conservation causes that advocate for the protection of the wild places I love.

I hope that through contributing some of my time and fees, I can try to repay some of the lessons learned wandering the woods and preserve them for the future.
