MEMBER BIO:

Our Grounds Coffee Company was founded in 2022 with the mission of aiding in the conservation of America's public lands through the sale of freshly roasted, small-batch coffee.

My business' focus on conservation stems from my love of the outdoors. From a young age, I was taught to enjoy, appreciate, and honor the outdoors. As a boy, I frequently traveled upstate (Pennsylvania) to hunt and fish with my grandfather. My cousins and I would fish in the pond on his property and proudly dawn our catches for him to inspect; we would scout for deer in the woods and report our findings. Sitting in a hunting blind built by my grandfather, I learned of the importance of ethics in hunting as well as conservation and preservation. Memories made with him I will cherish forever. 

As I've grown older, my love for the outdoors has evolved. I was fortunate enough to introduce my wife to hunting on my grandfather's property. When we welcomed our first son, our first family trip was to Pop's property; while he was much too young to remember the trip, my wife and I were so happy to have him take in the sights and sounds of the mountains, away from city life. As our family has since grown twice over, it is no longer easy to escape to the mountains. In the last few years, I have started to hunt on public lands; the differences are astounding!

The conservation and preservation of our nation’s public lands has become increasingly important to me as I’ve become a father. I yearn to teach them to love and respect nature. I hope to make memories that will last them a lifetime. Our public lands need protecting and safeguarding in order to ensure their livelihood and longevity, so that our children and future generations can continue to enjoy them.
